Man killed After Fight with teacher

The police in Kwara State have begun investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a 25-yearold man in Ilorin, the state capital.
The man’s death was said to have been suspiciously linked to an alleged clash with a 39-year-old primary school teacher.
The deceased, whose name was given as Kolawole Olanrewaju, reportedly engaged in the clash with the teacher, Bashir Aduragba, after an argument between them. The duo engaged in the argument following some refuse allegedly dumped beside the deceased’s house.

Paris Jackson was rushed to hospital in the early hours of Wednesday amid reports of an attempted suicide.

Her mother Debbie Rowe is understood to have confirmed the reports to Entertainment Tonight and said the 15-year-old is currently at a Los Angeles hospital.

Czech Woman Gives Birth To Country’s First Quintuplets

A 23-year-old woman has given birth to quintuplets in the Czech Republic, officials say, a first for the country.

Alexandra Kinova had four boys and a girl by caesarean section on Sunday, they say.

The Czech Republic's first quintuplets, who were conceived naturally without IVF, have a 95% chance of growing up healthy, the Associated Press quoted Zbynek Stranak, chief doctor at the neonatal section of the institute, as saying.

The boys' names are reportedly Deniel, Michael, Alex and Martin, while the girl is called Terezka.

Spanish Police Smash Edo State Voodoo Próstitution Gang

Spanish police said Sunday [Jun 2] they had broken up a ring that smuggled in women from Nigeria and forced them into street próstitution by burning them with irons and using voodoo rituals.

Police arrested six Nigerian nationals, including the suspected woman ringleader, as part of an investigation launched last year after one of the próstitutes filed a complaint with the authorities.

“The control exercised over women was total, involving verbal threats as well as physical violence and various voodoo ceremonies to terrorize them,” police said in a statement. “The ring caused them serious injury through bites or by using an iron to cause second-degree burns.” 

The ring recruited women in Benin City, a run-down Nigerian port, whose husbands and fathers had died and who were struggling to raise their children.

They transported the women overland to Morocco and then smuggled them on small wooden boats into Spain where they are forced to work as street próstitutes in Barcelona and Malaga.

Spanish police have swooped several times in past years on similar próstitution rings that used the threat of voodoo curses to frighten their victims into obedience.

Before leaving Nigeria, the rings often take their victims to shrines where they swear to pay their debts to the group and not to denounce them to the police.

The women leave fingernails, hair, underwear and other personal items at the shrines which they are told will give voodoo priests the power to harm them wherever they are in the world.

Man Found Dead In House Full Of Snakes (Photos)

Police looking for a missing man were shocked to find him dead in his home — surrounded by over forty giant snakes.

Many of the reptiles, including a 30ft anaconda and four 35ft pythons, were slithering free around the decomposing body when police entered snake fan Heiko Rieder's apartment in Straubing, Germany.

A fire service spokesman said: "At least one was as thick as a human thigh."

Worried colleagues alerted police after the 40-year-old caretaker failed to turn up to work for a week.

It is thought he died from a heart attack while feeding his pets.

Experts believe he was only saved from being eaten as he was too WIDE to be swallowed whole.

145,000 Adults, 15,000 Children Infected With HIV/AIDS In Rivers

Rivers State has the highest number of people living with HIV/AIDS with a total of 145,236 adults and 15,000 children affected, a Non-Governmental Organisation has said.

Co-ordinator, Rhema Care Integrated Development Centre, Priscillia Shu, stated this when the HIV/AIDS awareness center facilitated a sensitisation programme among staff of the Rivers State Ministry of Culture and Tourism.

Hunger Hits Boko Haram Members: 56 Insurgents Caught While Searching For Food

Military authorities in Borno State they had arrested a group of 56 terrorists that were moving from village to village in search of food, following a tip off from civilians.

Some member of the group, according to the Director of Defence Information, Brigadier-General Chris Olukolade, who were moving around in a Toyota Land Cruiser Jeep with registration number Borno XA 428 ADM, suspected to have been stolen, were arrested at Daban Masara village while looking for food.
